2. One of the advantages of overbraiding is that complex shapes can be formed around cheap molds; here made from polyurethane foam. The mould is put into the 144-spool overbraider designed by Eurocarbon and the sleeve starts to be woven.
3. The original textile was formed from carbon, coloured polyester, glass fibre and electrical cable. The latest prototype replaces the polyester with conductive carbonfibre replacing the need for electrical cables.
4. The textile sleeve is complete and the mould can be removed. The bell is impregnated with resin.
5. The textile is placed over a second mould made from plywood, bent to create the curved form of the lamp and the stem, and is then also impregnated with resin. Final product
